ABOUT ME, MYSELF AND MY WORLD…
And this is me.
Born on a Wednesday in May 1974 in Saarlouis / Germany, almost France, almost Luxembourg.
After a two-year apprenticeship as photographer at a large-scale photo studio for commercial and industrial photography, I studied Visual Communications at the University of Applied Sciences in Dortmund.
For altogether over two years I lived in New York City, where I worked as assistant and studio-manager e.g. for Hans Neleman and John Curry.
In 2003, I established my own photo studio in Düsseldorf / Germany. Being graduate photo-designer and BFF-professional-member (wow!), I’m specialized in still-life, food and animal photography.
My personal photo projects influence my commercial work and vice versa. The one thing all my images have in common is my precise concentration on details. I’m obsessed with details, even more details with even more texture. Substantial is also my desire to control every aspect of my work, only to achieve the image I imagined beforehand.
Because of the intrinsic and individual light characteristic, which I love in my complex productions, I’m called “Fairy of Light” or “Dr. Flash”.
My traditional training as photographer and my endless patience lead to my emphasis on photography rather than digital image manipulation. I strive for shooting as close as possible to the resulting image as I do not believe in too much Photoshopping.
Since 1997 my photos are exhibited and awarded in renowned museums and galleries within Germany and abroad.
My world is not blurred, but always in focus. And my world is in color and never black and white.
